Walter Hays embraces both intellectual and emotional learning. As such, the school’s students and staff have developed a code to support a respectful and inclusive community: “The Walter Hays Way.” It calls on all of us – students, teachers, parents, and administrators – to foster a positive environment, where our students can learn and grow.
The “Walter Hays Way” is represented by nine core values – one for each month of the school year. We strive to integrate these values into everyday campus life. Students and families will learn more about each of the core values throughout the school year as we promote them in the classrooms, at monthly assemblies, on posters, in a selection of books in the library, and through occasional lunchtime activities.
We welcome your input as well. If you have any ideas about speakers or other Core Values related activities, we would love to hear about it and are happy to spearhead it.
